A group from the Niger Delta region, the Supreme Egbesu Assembly, has condemned the actions and comments of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, describing them as harassment, intimidation, and insults towards the Ijaw ethnic nationality.

Speaking through its Leader, Sergeant Digifa, in a statement, the group expressed its disappointment and concern over Wike’s behavior, which they believe is unacceptable and divisive.

Digifa cited an African adage that cautions against engaging with someone who is acting irrationally, suggesting that some leaders in the community are choosing not to respond to Wike’s provocative statements.

The group emphasized that the Niger Delta community is watching the situation closely and will not be swayed by Wike’s “crass arrogance.”

The Egbesu Leader also hinted at a long history of struggle and resilience, stating that they have always emerged victorious in their battles for justice and fairness.

The statement appears to be a response to Wike’s recent comments and actions, which have been perceived as inflammatory and divisive.

The group’s condemnation adds to the growing criticism of Wike’s leadership style and his handling of sensitive issues in the region.
