Political juggernaut and respected leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, Pa Samuel Abejide, has called on party faithful to maintain order and decorum at the grand finale of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s re-election campaign billed for today
Pa Abejide, Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, said the massive crowd is proof that the people have spoken long before the ballot.
“Let us be honest with ourselves. This is a contest already won. There are no serious challengers to contend with. The people of Ekiti have seen the work and they have made up their minds,” he said with a smile.
The 80-year-old APC leader urged supporters to match the huge turnout with maturity, warning that indiscipline would distract from the message of continuity.
“This is not the time for chaos or provocation. We are APC, and APC is known for order. With the large number of people coming out to show love for our governor, we must conduct ourselves in a way that reflects the values of progressives,” Pa Abejide stated.
He expressed strong optimism about what lies ahead, saying the focus now shifts from campaigning to celebrating and planning.
“All that matters now is how we celebrate this victory with dignity, and how we prepare for the more positive form the government of Governor Oyebanji will take in his last lap as governor of Ekiti. The first term laid the foundation. The second term will finish the house and furnish it for the people.”
Pa Abejide, a consistent voice for grassroots politics in Ekamefa zone and northern Ekiti, prayed for a peaceful grand finale and a hitch-free election on Saturday, describing Oyebanji’s second term as “Ekiti’s reward for good governance.”
