Seun for Seun but all for Seun
Dr Seun Ilori is said to be a jolly good fellow. This was better explained in the words of Barrister Kola Omotinugbon who hurried into the Durumi, venue of the introduction ceremony of Seun to Seun (Grace) family. The Chief Ba’amofin of Eruku, Kwara State breezed in,from a very tight engagement, breaking every protocols to ensure attendance.
According to the High Chief Omotinugbon, nothing can debar him from coming to affirm his love for Seun, in whom he is well pleased.
“I am here to honour Seun, a dedicated, diligent, dutiful and delightful ‘home boy’, so loved by the family and all who have had course to have engagement with him.
All clad in white attire, sign of peace, the Ilori family, friends and associates, besieged the Durumi resident of the Olusegun Olubo, parents of that glittering and very beautiful, elegant flower, gathering momentum for harvesting.
Drumbeat rented the air as soon as the Iloris stepped into the compound of the Olubos. The people danced to the rhythm of the talking drums accompanied by gospel and native songs. They emersed themselves in the profundity of the native renditions that sounds poetic and pleasing to the ears.
They sang “ewo osembele,” “okun Olorun ha”, Eruku renditions that got all natives off their seats to a sweaty dance. It was an event soaked with so much fun.
The contentment of Seun Ilori could be felt from his cheery face as he was smiling from ear to ear in response to the overwhelming outpouring of accolades from parents and friends alike.
Despite the frills, the trills and the mish-mash of pleasantries, one thing is certain: beyond the fact that Seun and his wife share same name, they also have so many other similarities that solidify their love for a perfect union?
The Kiriji Times was reliably informed that it is a marriage conceived by old friends. Seun and Seun’s friendship, we learnt, has spanned decades. The innocent friendship, grew to affection and from affection to a futuristic cravings for a harmonious home which only such relationship could guarantee. They closed up on it and grabbed the rare opportunity.
The taste of this fruit is in the pudding. Seun and his wife are very perfect match. Their friends who trooped out in their number to identify with them, the joy in the eyes of both parents and the underlining affection for their quality, top notch offsprings are testament of homegrown guys so loved by all.
