Aviation Perm Sec to launch Airport Business Summit and Expo 2025

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, will declare open the Airport Business Summit and Expo (ABSE) 2025 on behalf of Minister Festus Keyamo.

The summit, scheduled for July 15-17 at the NIGAV Expo Event Centre at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, promises to be a landmark event in Nigeria’s aviation industry.

ABSE is the only fully dedicated airport business convergence in Nigeria, designed to address air transport concerns from an airport perspective.

The summit aims to provide an opportunity for in-depth discussions on how to make Nigeria’s airports economically sustainable and guarantee returns on investment for private funding in a sector that has been predominantly government-dominated.

The theme for this year’s summit is “Investment Opportunities in Airport Public-Private Partnerships.

” The three-day program is packed with activities, including a training workshop on airport development, a Special Airport State Session, and the airport manager forum. These collective efforts will create an unparalleled summit on air transport sector development essential for transforming Nigeria’s economy,” says the organizer, Mr Fortune Idu.

The masterclass workshop on airport revenue planning, he said, would provide comprehensive insights into common revenue generation issues faced by airports.

The summit will also review existing revenue streams, resolve conflicts, and identify new opportunities for investors to collaborate with airports in achieving business sustainability objectives.

Industry stakeholders, including airport managers, airlines, aviation stakeholders, advisory committees, airport investors, and the business community, are expected to attend the summit.

The panel session is expected to focus on critical concerns of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and how airports can balance safety, security, and operational activities.

The summit is a collaborative effort between the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Nigerian Transport Commissioners’ Forum, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.

By harnessing investment and development opportunities for airport development, viability, and intermodal corridors in the air transport sector, ABSE 2025 aims to unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s aviation industry ¹.
