Delta opens second Delta One Lounge at LAX

Delta Air Lines is deepening its footprint in Los Angeles with the opening of Phase 1 of a second Delta One Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport, adding another premium space for travelers as the airline prepares for surging demand ahead of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The new intimate lounge, located on the Mezzanine level of Terminal 2, spans 4,000 square feet and seats 75 guests. It is designed to complement, not duplicate, the larger Delta One Lounge in Terminal 3. Where T3 focuses on scale, T2 focuses on calm. Expansive windows frame airfield views, natural light fills the room, and artwork from seven Los Angeles-based creators connects guests directly to the city’s culture.

Phase 2 of the renovation is scheduled for completion in 2028. When finished, Delta’s total lounge footprint at LAX will reach 60,000 square feet with more than 1,000 seats. The buildout also includes an 11,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club in Terminal 2 set to open in 2027. With these additions, Delta will operate four dedicated lounge spaces at LAX — two Delta One Lounges and two Delta Sky Clubs — and bring its global lounge network to 60, the largest of any U.S.-based carrier.

“This investment remains congruent to our strategy of elevating the premium experience both at LAX and across our global network,” said Megan Humphreys, Vice President of Delta Sky Club and Lounge Experience. “With demand for premium travel continuing to rise and our global footprint expanding, we’re thoughtfully looking at every square foot we have — designing every detail with intention.”

The Terminal 2 lounge is built around culinary experience. Guests receive table service from every seat, with a rotating menu that mirrors T3’s a la carte Delta One dining. Standouts include lamb bolognese with house-made lumache pasta, hamachi crudo with fish flown in daily from Japan, and French onion soup. Breakfast ranges from acai bowls and huevos rancheros to pastries and small-batch copper-pot jams delivered each morning from East Hollywood favorite Sqirl. Most ingredients are sourced from California farms.

The bar program tells a story of Delta’s global reach. Signature cocktails include the “Island Sapphire,” inspired by the LAX to Honolulu route. Non-alcoholic options include the Vitality Shot with coconut, turmeric and black pepper, cacao pea protein smoothies, and coffee from Santa Cruz roaster Verve.

For comfort, the lounge offers three showers, four cabana-style bathrooms, a premium bar, portable monitors, and wireless chargers throughout. It also extends Delta’s “curb-to-cloud” premium journey at LAX. Delta One customers can use curbside drop at Terminal 3, access private check-in and security, then take Delta golf cart transportation directly to the Terminal 2 lounge.

The investment aligns with Delta’s role as LAX’s leading global carrier. The airline operates 151 peak-day departures to 50 destinations from Los Angeles. Recent and upcoming additions include new nonstop service to Hong Kong and Chicago O’Hare, Vancouver starting Nov. 21, and Newark starting April 2027.

By 2028, Delta’s presence at LAX will be fully transformed — two Delta One Lounges, two Sky Clubs, and a seamless premium experience designed for both business and leisure travelers passing through the airport’s busiest gateway to the Pacific.
