Turkish Airlines, Air Peace seal interline pact to link Nigeria, Africa with global destinations

Turkish Airlines and Air Peace have activated a bilateral interline agreement aimed at easing travel between Nigeria, West and Central Africa, and more than 300 destinations worldwide, the two carriers announced Wednesday.

The partnership allows passengers of both airlines to book single tickets, access coordinated schedules, and check baggage through to final destinations on selected routes, removing the friction of separate bookings and multiple check-ins.

Under the deal, Turkish Airlines customers landing in Lagos can now transfer seamlessly onto Air Peace’s domestic and regional network across Nigeria and West Africa. In turn, Air Peace passengers can connect via Turkish Airlines’ Istanbul hub to onward flights across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

Executives from both airlines said the agreement deepens Africa’s links to global markets while positioning Lagos and Istanbul as stronger gateways.

“This interline agreement with Air Peace reinforces our commitment to expanding connectivity across Africa,” said Dr. Özlem Özyön, Turkish Airlines’ SVP International Relations and Alliances. “By combining Turkish Airlines’ global reach with Air Peace’s strong regional presence, we are generating more travel options, improved convenience, and greater accessibility for our passengers.”

Air Peace Chief Commercial Officer Nowel Ngala called the pact “another important milestone” in the carrier’s strategy to place Nigeria “at the center of global connectivity.”

He added: “By integrating our robust domestic and regional network with Turkish Airlines’ unparalleled international reach, we are offering our customers seamless connections, reduced travel complexity, and greater choice, while strengthening Nigeria’s role as a key aviation gateway.”

Turkish Airlines serves Lagos with widebody aircraft, offering award-winning catering and its Istanbul hub, which connects to 356 destinations in 132 countries.

Air Peace operates a fleet of over 50 aircraft, including B777s, B737s, and Embraers, across domestic, regional, and intercontinental routes in Africa, Europe, South America, and the Middle East.

Tickets under the interline agreement are available on http://turkishairlines.com, http://flyairpeace.com, and through IATA-accredited travel agents.

Turkish Airlines, founded in 1933 and a Star Alliance member, flies 522 passenger and cargo aircraft to 303 international and 53 domestic destinations.

Air Peace is Nigeria’s largest airline, with a growing fleet and network aimed at boosting trade, tourism, and regional mobility while positioning Nigeria as a key player in global aviation.
