The Federal Government has opened subscriptions for its March 2025 savings bonds, offering Nigerians a chance to invest and earn interest rates of 16.635% and 17.635% per year.

According to the Debt Management Office (DMO), the two-year bond will mature in March 2027 with a 16.635% interest rate, while the three-year bond will mature in March 2028 at 17.635%.

The offer is open from March 3 to March 7, and payments start on March 12. Investors can buy from as little as N5,000, adding in multiples of N1,000, up to N50 million. Interest is paid every three months, and the full amount is returned at the end of the bond period.

The DMO assured that these bonds are safe, backed by the government, and tax-free for pension funds and certain investors. They can also be traded on the Nigerian Exchange.

This comes after the government raised N1.63 trillion from its February bond auction as part of its plan to borrow N13 trillion in 2025 to fund the national budget.
