Delta Air Lines is showering its employees with a Valentine’s Day gift worth $1.3 billion, lending proof to the company’s people-first culture.
This profit-sharing payout, equivalent to approximately four weeks of extra pay, is a celebration of the team’s outstanding performance in 2025.
CEO Ed Bastian puts it succinctly, “Sharing our success is central to our values. That’s why we’ve paid more than $11 billion in profits directly to our employees worldwide since 2015. Congratulations to every member of the Delta team on this well-earned payout and thank you for your outstanding performance taking care of our customers in 2025.”
The payout is part of Delta’s unique profit-sharing model, where employees receive 10% of the first $2.5 billion earned and 20% above that threshold.
This year’s payout is among the top five largest in Delta’s history, surpassing the combined profit-sharing payouts of other major airlines.
Since 2007, Delta has made it a point to share its success with employees on Valentine’s Day, reinforcing its commitment to their well-being and growth.
The distribution is global, with notable payouts in key locations:
– Georgia: $567.9 million for 43,500 employees
– New York: $171.1 million for 13,500 employees
– Minnesota: $113.7 million for 8,900 employees
– International regions also benefit, including EMEAI ($4.7 million), Latin America ($1.7 million), and Asia-Pacific ($4.5 million)
Delta’s commitment to its employees is paying off, with recognition as No. 15 on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list and No. 2 on Forbes’ World’s Best Employers 2025 list.
This milestone solidifies Delta’s position as a top employer globally, where employees are valued and rewarded for their contributions.
The profit-sharing payout is more than just a bonus; it’s a symbol of Delta’s appreciation for its team’s hard work and dedication.
As the company continues to soar, its employees are reaping the rewards of being part of a winning team.
