The FCT Golf Association has launched its ‘Golf to School’ initiative to introduce golf at the grassroots level, engaging six selected schools in Abuja.
At a stakeholders’ meeting, principals and games masters from GSS Gwarinpa, GSS Karshi, GSS Tundun Wada, GSS Gwagwalada, GSS Dutse, and Aduvie International School were enlightened on integrating golf into school sports.
Chairman Akabom Enebong said the project aims to create golf academies in partnership with the FCT Education and Sports departments, dispelling the notion that golf is an elite game.
The Department of School Sports and school representatives pledged full support, describing the initiative as a pathway to nurturing future golf champions and promoting sports beyond the classroom.
