Power outbreak restricts passengers into Heathrow airport

A massive fire at an electrical substation near London’s Heathrow Airport has caused a power outage, forcing the airport to shut down and disrupting travel for hundreds of thousands of passengers.

The fire, which started on Thursday night, has been mostly contained, but power has not been restored to the airport.

At least 1,350 flights to and from Heathrow have been affected, with some flights diverted to other airports such as Gatwick, Charles de Gaulle, and Shannon.

The airport’s closure has caused chaos for passengers, with many left stranded in London.

Heathrow has announced that it doesn’t know when power will be restored, raising concerns that the shutdown could last longer than initially expected.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, but so far, they have found no evidence of foul play.

Flight disruption has had a significant impact on global travel, with passengers facing delays and cancellations.

The airport’s busiest January on record earlier this year, with over 6.3 million passengers, has made the disruption even more challenging.

For now, passengers are advised to check with their airlines for updates on flight schedules and cancellations.

Heathrow’s closure has also raised concerns about the potential long-term impact on air travel and the economy.
