Skillicom debunks claims by FIJ

Skillicorn Nigeria Limited has responded to a publication by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) concerning its recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Odogbolu Local Government in Ogun State, Nigeria.

The company described the article as containing factual inaccuracies, misleading associations, and a total absence of engagement with the management of Skillicorn Nigeria Limited.

According to Skillicorn Nigeria Limited, the company is a fully Nigerian-owned private company, duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Abuja, and is not a subsidiary or affiliate of any foreign company.

It nord that the claims linking their operations to a UK-based company that has initiated a voluntary strike-off are completely false and have no bearing on their legal structure, ownership, or operations.

The company explained that its technical partnership with Mr. Paul William Skillicorn, a U.S.-based patent holder and global leader in sustainable biotechnology solutions, is on an individual expert-to-company basis, not via any of his corporate entities.

Mr. Skillicorn is the inventor and principal patent holder of the New Circular Economy (NCE) model, a globally recognized framework for zero-waste, off-grid infrastructure combining wastewater treatment, organic agriculture, and renewable energy.

The MoU signed on July 22, 2025, between Skillicorn Nigeria Limited and the Odogbolu Local Government was described as legal, transparent, and duly approved by the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission.

Skillicorn stated that no public funds are involved in the execution of the MoU, and the $21 million pilot phase valuation cited in media reports is an internal projection of service value, not a budget from government coffers.

The project, which will be funded and implemented by Skillicorn Nigeria Limited, aims to provide 80 households in the Eyinwa community with free access to clean water, renewable electricity, toilets, and kitchen gardens.

The company will also create about 200 new jobs during the initial phase and generate 28MW of distributed clean energy using proprietary hybrid systems.

Skillicorn Nigeria Limited expressed disappointment that FIJ failed to reach out to the company for clarification before publishing the story, a basic step in credible journalism.

The company urged FIJ and other media platforms to embrace fact-checking, fairness, and professionalism in their work, especially when reporting on public-private partnerships that have the potential to improve lives.

The company stands by its mission to revolutionize rural infrastructure in Nigeria through sustainable, zero-cost models that benefit the underserved. It is committed to transparency, community empowerment, and long-term impact, and invites all well-meaning Nigerians, partners, and institutions to join them in making rural prosperity a reality.
